Why Abortion Should be Paramount- Dr. Keith Barr

There are some people who criticize some Conservative Christians for only caring about two issues: abortion and same sex marriage.  This is untrue.  However, there are some issues which should be paramount.

 par·a·mount ( p²r“…-mount”) adj. 1. Of chief concern or importance: tending first to one's paramount needs. 2. Supreme in rank, power, or authority.

 As politicians seek our votes, we must be very careful not to prostitute ourselves and ask “what would God have us do?”  It is not enough for a politician to claim they are a person of faith.  Are you a Christian?  That means Christ-like. If your Christianity doesn’t affect the way you act—especially how you vote—then you are not a true Christian.

 (Mat 7:21 KJV)  Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

IF you won’t do what he says you have no right to call yourself Christian

(Luke 6:46 KJV)  And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

 Abortion is the murder of an unborn innocent child.  One thing the Lord hates is hands that shed innocent blood (Prov 6:17).  In their innocence they are close to God.  When some little children wanted to come to Jesus, the disciples wanted to keep them away, but Jesus rebuked them.  Jesus said: “Allow the children to come and don’t forbid them to come to me for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” 

Jesus said that if you were going to offend one of his little children it would be better for you to kill yourself by hanging a giant stone about your neck and drowning yourself into the ocean.

(Mat 18:5-6 KJV)  And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. {6} But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

 CHILDREN ARE VERY SPECIAL TO GOD

 You can’t have true revival unless the hearts of the fathers are turned to their children. (Luke 1:17)

 (Mal 4:5-6 KJV)  Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: {6} And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

These are not just fetuses but living people whom God knows.  He knows what they would have become if they had the chance to live.  HE KNOWS them and knows who has been killed.  “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations” (Jer 1:5 KJV). Rebecca was still pregnant when God told her she was having twins and what they would be like and they weren’t even born yet. (Gen 25:33) (Rom 9:10-13). A woman may abort her child and never know it but God knows it.

 Anything God is for, Satan is against. Abortion is a modern day form of Baal worship.  In the days of Elijah people worshipped Baal.  There was a giant statue of Baal with a furnace in his belly and his hands outstretched to hold or receive babies.  For Baal’s favor for their crops to grow and to have an easier life, these people would sacrifice their children and place them in Baal’s arms to roll down in the furnace and be burned alive.  While they aren’t burning their children today they are ripping them apart for the sake of their own convenience

 Since Roe vs. Wade was enacted about 50 million babies have been aborted in the U.S.  Fifty million!  We talk about the Holocaust and about how Hitler killed six million Jews and rightly so, but what about these 50 million? Do you realize that is greater than the populations of most of the countries on this earth; greater than countries like Poland, Spain, nearly France?  Only 23 out of the worlds 192 countries have a population of greater than 50 million. This is the greatest slaughter in human history.  Don’t you think this is of paramount importance to God and should be to us?

 This country is having problems now because of the babies we have slaughtered.  We have a social security problem with not enough young workers paying into social security, shortage of students in schools, shortage of people going into the military, and shortage of workers. This is why so many want a flood of illegal aliens in this country to make up for the shortage of workers that we would not have if not for abortion.

 God is a god of life and Satan is a god of death (John 10:10 KJV.).  The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. God commanded us to be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth.  The word replenish is from the Hebrew word male', maw-layer which means fill to capacity.  We have not done that yet.  If you can take the entire earth’s population and stand them shoulder to shoulder we would all fit in Jacksonville FL.

 Also, this issue should be paramount to you because we don’t want God’s judgment to fall upon us.  When you support politicians who support abortion you are enabling this tragedy to continue. Many women use abortion as a form of birth control and have multiple abortions.  One of the central themes throughout the Bible is because of man’s wickedness God has, does, and will pour out his judgment on individuals groups, families, cities, nations and the world.  Abortion is an issue that should be paramount to us as Christians.  There is nothing in the Constitution that says anything about abortion.  Have you ever heard what article in the Constitution they get this from?  No.  Even if it was, that doesn’t make it right. I don’t believe we should support anyone who supports abortion. 

 If the murder of almost 50 million innocent babies doesn’t demand judgment, what will?  When Able was killed by Cain, his blood cried out to God demanding judgment (Gen 4:10).  Jesus told his generation because they did not receive him they would be punished.  Since the work of all the prophets from Abel unto that day was to point to Jesus that God was going to require of them all the righteous blood that has been shed from Able unto Zachariah (Luke 11:49-51).   (This is why I say the most Jewish thing a Jew can do is receive Jesus.) The Jews did not listen. What happened to his generation? They started a war with Rome and the Romans killed 3 million of them crucifying so many of them that there were no trees left for miles around Jerusalem (the same fate Jesus suffered).  Jerusalem was in siege for 3 years and they suffered greatly.  Many of them starved, eating all the rats in the city.  They ate all the leather so there were no shoes or belts left.  One woman cooked and ate her own child.  When some tried to escape the soldiers would catch them and slice open their bellies and bowels looking for gold and jewels as Jesus had prophesied.  Some fled to Masada where eventually every man killed his own family with the sword to keep them from being raped and sold into slavery.  The rest was sold into slavery and forced to leave Israel.  Rome said the Jews were too dangerous to live in one place and scattered them around the world.  Rome said Israel could be no more and changed the name of the land to Palestine after the Philistines.  For almost 1,900 years they were without a homeland being persecuted in country after country and were slaughtered by the millions.  In 1948, Israel was established a nation, but their descendants and we are dealing with the repercussions of their disobedience today.  When God pours out his judgment it is not to be taken lightly.  The end result of sin is death (James 1:15).

 There are some that always use rape and incest as reasons to allow abortions.  As a husband and father of six daughters I am sympathetic to the plight of women.  However two wrongs don’t make a right.  The violence that may have been done to a woman does not give anyone the right to kill a child.

 Finally, as an African-American, I am dismayed by many of our so called “Black religious leaders” who are more concerned about championing gay rights and abortion than righteousness.  These false prophets have convinced their followers to be more concerned about civil rights than righteousness and sin.  When I die I’m going to Heaven, not Harlem.  Believe it or not the greatest danger to the black community is caused by fornication and the resultant single parent homes they produce.  Over 60% of births in black community are to single mothers.  WE are not in danger from white robbed Klansman riding down our streets but the kids who have never had a father’s love and instruction who have grown up to be hoodlums that glorify and revel in violence.  These heathens terrorize our schools, our communities and cities and have raised the crime rate to intolerable levels.

(Lev 19:29 KJV)  Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.

Our cities are full of wickedness.  One church is leaving Detroit because they are tired of all the thefts and break-ins they have suffered.  Someone stole their $60,000 air conditioner off the roof in the middle of night.  It took them several hours to remove it. When several neighbors called 911 to tell the police to they were shocked and dismayed by their response. “Come now they are stealing it right now off the roof of church.  If you come now you can stop them!” they said.  The operator told them they were too busy seeing about violent crime to come and stop the theft. The crime rate is so high in many of our major cities that families and businesses are leaving by the tens of thousands.  The murder rates are so high that cities like Atlanta, Washington D.C. and Detroit are more dangerous than Iraq.  Unbelievable but true.  Sin brings a curse.

 I believe many of us need to repent for not doing all we can to stop abortion and the slaughter of 50 million innocent babies.  I believe their blood cries out unto God like Abel. There are many issues that should concern us as Christians but there are some issues that should be paramount.  Abortion is one of them lest the wrath of God befall us all.

 (Rev 9:20-21 KJV)  And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: {21} Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

(Heb 10:26-29 KJV)  For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, {27} But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. {28} He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: {29} Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
